A quiet corner of Kuching helping businesses work a little easier
We are a small team with a clear focus: finding the right AI tool for the right task, and fitting it into your day without drama.
Back to HomeStarted because we kept seeing the same problem
Pintar Studio began in Kuching after its founder — who had spent years working in technology consulting across Sarawak — noticed a consistent gap. Small business owners were aware that AI tools existed. A few had tried them. But most had run into the same wall: tools that felt built for somewhere else, explained in language suited to engineers, and requiring a setup investment that simply was not realistic for a two- or three-person operation.
The studio was set up in 2022 to address that gap specifically. Not to sell software licences, not to deliver large-scale transformation projects, but to sit alongside a small business owner, understand what their week actually looks like, and figure out together whether AI could quietly help with one or two things.
Most of our clients are owner-operators running shops, services, or small professional practices in Kuching and the wider Sarawak area. They are juggling many roles. We work around that reality, not against it.
Our Mission
To make practical AI support accessible to small businesses in Malaysia — not as a buzzword exercise, but as a genuine, considered easing of everyday workload.
Our Approach
We listen first. We suggest only when we see a clear match. We document everything so you are not dependent on us after the handover. And we stay available if questions come up later.
Our Values
- Honesty about what AI can and cannot do
- Respect for your time and how you already work
- Plain language in everything we write and say
- Careful handling of your business information
The people behind Pintar Studio

Standards we hold to on every engagement
Data handled carefully
We only access what is needed for the agreed scope. Nothing is stored beyond the engagement, and we explain each connection before it is made.
Clear agreements in writing
Scope, price, and timeline are agreed in writing before any work begins. No surprises mid-project.
Full documentation on handover
Every setup comes with written guidance in plain language, so you or your team can manage it going forward without depending on us.
Regular check-ins during the work
We keep you informed throughout, share drafts early, and adjust direction based on your feedback before anything is finalised.
Honest about limitations
If an AI tool is not a good fit for what you need, we say so directly. We do not push solutions that do not serve your situation.
Available after handover
Questions that come up in the weeks after a project closes are welcomed. We would rather answer them than leave you uncertain.
AI integration that fits small business realities in Sarawak
Small businesses in Kuching face a different set of conditions than those in larger urban centres. Staff numbers are small, margins are often tight, and the owner is usually wearing several hats at once. That context shapes every recommendation we make.
Our work draws on practical knowledge of the AI tools available to small teams — chat response systems, workflow support tools, and data summary platforms — assessed specifically for how they perform in the day-to-day of a Malaysian small business. We are not aligned with any particular software vendor, which means our advice reflects what we believe fits your situation rather than what we have a commercial reason to promote.
Pintar Studio holds memberships with the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) digital ecosystem and participates in regional SME technology adoption programmes. Our consultants maintain active familiarity with current AI tooling through ongoing professional development.
Clients who have worked with us tend to be retail and food business owners, professional service providers, and small trading companies operating across Kuching and neighbouring areas of Sarawak. We work in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
